One day I was at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. We were at the water park doing all the fun slides there. Me and my dad wanted to do a two person racer, but my brothers height at the time was to short for the slide so he couldn't come. We waited in the line for about five minutes. Finally it was my turn, i sat down and watched the counter "3...2...1!" My dad went down the slide but I wasn't aloud to go because I was sitting. My dad was a fourth of the way down when I finally heard them say "lay down" so I took off. I was going really fast and somehow I passed my dad who was half way down. I had reached the bottom, and had beat my dad by one or two seconds! When he finally reached the bottom he said " I saw you fly down that course really fast!" I said " I can't believe I actually beat you." then we found my mom and told her what happened. After that we moved onto the  next slide and had fun. That was the time I was water sliding at the Atlantis Bahamas.

One day I was at a water park called Rapids in Florida, its a giant water park. It was my second time there and. This time I would do the highest slide there. I waited in line with my dad my uncle my brother and three of my cousins. I was taking the second turn while two of my cousins went first.  I chose one of the two slides the one with put a giant drop. I got on my back and went down. It was basically dark the entire time, and loads of turns. I didn't know where the end was but I kept turning until I saw a faint light. I got brighter and brighter until I shot out of the darkness and into slopes. When I finaly reached the bottom I got up and saw my brother speaking wet from the slide. I said "how did you like the slide?" He said "it was awesome!" Then we waited for my dad and I saw him go even faster than I did, he liked the slide as well. I was happy that I did that slide and went down it. Then we walked to the next slide to go down.

Both year round school, essay

Year round school is not a good idea. It would also have the same amount of days as a traditional calendar school, a 180 day school year (Name not given). Expert research from Bradley McMillan, "collected data in North Carolina, proving that year round school students achievements were no higher than traditional schools" (Education Week). As expert research suggests, kids that go year round have just as much of a chance to loose information as kids that go to a traditional calendar school (Name not given).  Finally, in Salt Lake City, statistics prove that year round schools only made 50% adequate yearly progress, while traditional calendar schools made 80% adequate yearly progress (Deseret News). In conclusion, I believe that year round schooling is not as good as traditional calendar schools.

Thursday January ninth

Today I wrote a story,listened to the read alouds, I tried to do the page for DRN I will do that at home.

Florida boomers go cart racing.

I was racing against ten teenagers and my dad and brother in the same cart, I was on my own. I was at boomers in Florida, a place in Florida with a Lot of things to do like go carts,water bumper carts,arcades, laser tag and batting courts for baseball. I was doing the advanced go carts a gigantic go cart course. I was the fourth cart in the line of 10 carts. The buzzer went off, fwoosh! all the carts went down the course. My car was going slower than the other carts and I was being bumped into by the teens. My dad and brother where in the back while I was third in the back. Then when I pushed all the way down I went really fast. I was 8th out of the 10 carts besides my dad.  I tried to pass 2 girls, something was flying in my face making it harder to see but I still kept trying to pass them. I had then passed  the two girls I felt really happy but I was still in sixth. I passed another 2 people, I was in fourth I couldn't believe myself that I had gotten that far. Then there was a teenage boy and girl in front of me, I passed the girl easily but the teenage boy was very very annoying. He kept cutting me off and bumping into me. If I could i would have bumped back into him a few times. I was very annoyed and the finish line was only three turns away. I didn't know if I could pass him. Another turn passed two turns to go, another turn passed, I wasn't going to loose to this teen. I rammed down on the peddle full speed rammed into the back of his left corner of the cart made and made him turn just enough for me to get through, I was squeezed in between the cart and the wall the line was only four seconds away and I had passed him. I was super happy! I had passed him by one second left. I didn't care that I was second I had started in third went down to ninth and made it to second. My dad finally passed the line, he was in ninth place out of eleven. He thought It was unfair that he had the slowest car and was the last one to leave the start. We got back into are car and told the story of how I had gotten 2nd, then we went back to our hotel. That was probably my best run ever in go carts and the last time since I was at boomers.

AHW, Sledding 1

One day during winter break, we went sledding with my friend and his family and my family. With our new sleds we went to a place with big hills and nobody there. There was four inches of snow on then ground,still snowing. We got to the hill after five minutes of walking from the parking lot. There was nobody there,them we put down our sleds. I took one sled and ran and jumped into the hill, It was a. Fast hill. At the end of the hill I fell into the snow and was covered. I went down over and over again, then we went to a new hill. There was anbig hill on it that some kids made. Right away I tried to make it,I missed by a small amount. On the second try I made I flew for two or three seconds and hit the ground almost hitting the golf flag right after. My second run i hit the hill again but I hit the flag, fell off my sled ,hurt my leg and my face was covered in snow. After that I sat out for a while. Then i got to try my friends sled. You could steer it wherever you wanted to go. I didn't go on the hill that time. I went up and down the hill a few more times then we left the golf course, And went home.
